Current Work Area

My research interests are in Computer Vision, Signal & Image Processing, Machine Intelligence and Multi Sensor Data Fusion, with main focus on detection and recognition applications using sensors like infrared and EO imagers, seismic and acoustic sensors spanning across diverse application areas like perimeter monitoring, vision enhancement, medical, structural health monitoring and related fields.
1. OMEGA - Inferential Imaging – Photo, Acoustic, Seismic and Bio-Mimetic

Automatic Target Recognition (ATR): It is the field of science to detect, track, classify targets from video and signal streams. Monitoring of moving vehicles and humans is a critical component used in many computer vision applications like surveillance, remote sensing, and traffic monitoring, intelligent transportation systems, human identification, robotics, rescue operations and strategic applications. The overall goal of ATR is to analyse the multi-sensing modalities and data fusion to detect, classify and recognize target signatures automatically using Seismic, Acoustic, Passive Infrared (PIR), Visual and Thermal Imaging sensors to accomplish the goal.

2. I-HEAL - Innovative technologies for health assessment and damage mitigation of structures

Image and signal processing & Artificial Intelligence techniques for damage/defect identification.
• Active Infrared thermography for sub-surface defect detection
• Vibration sensors for monitoring of stress, displacement, etc.

3. Automatic 3D Rice Classification Using Camera/Flat-Bed Scanner and Image Processing
Classification of rice kernels using digital image analysis. Rice kernels are classified into 10 numbers of Refractions (Sound, Big Broken, Small Broken, Chalky, Discolored, Damaged, Red, Admixture, Organic, Inorganic) using both the top and bottom surface images of rice kernels acquired using flat-bed scanner/camera.

4. Autonomous Under water Vehicle (UnWar) – Vision system module
Algorithms for image enhancement, interpretation and analysis of underwater images for recognition of objects, structures, marine life, etc.

5. Advanced Instrumentation Solutions for Health Care and Agro Based Solutions (ASHA)
Non-invasive and non-destructive techniques and technologies for quantification of Seed Quality
• Thermal infrared imaging based seed quality analysis

Qualification

• B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Warangal in 2008,
• M.Tech in Advanced Instrumentation Engineering from Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) in 2011.
